NATURE TRAILS AND BIRD WATCHING

At Rolling Hills Holidays there is no traffic and the wildlife remains relatively undisturbed. With some forethought, the opportunity to see nervous creatures such as Foxes, Rabbits, Hares, Fallow and Roe deer is much higher than the average.

You’ll see all the birds you might expect and others such as Curlews that are becoming a rare sight in Britain. Buzzards and Red Kites are a common sight in the skies above and mixed flocks of Redpolls and Linnets are seen regularly around the farmlands in late autumn and winter.

There are also woodpeckers, Blue, Great, Long Tailed and Marsh Tits. The main summer visitors are Swallows flying around. Various species of owls also inhabit the locality and you’ll often hear them from early evening and late into the night. If you're visiting in September or October you may well get a chance to see badgers digging up the grass, looking for cranefly grubs.
